London Southend Airport donates essential items to charity partner South East Central Essex Mind

London Southend has gathered essential items to share with the residents of Nelson’s Gate in Southend as part of its ongoing partnership with SECE Mind.

London Southend Airport began a charity partnership with SECE Mind in 2021 and have already raised over £15,000 through fundraising activities and have engaged in a number of mental health initiatives.

As part of the community services at SECE MIND, the charity provides supervised residential housing for adults with a mental health condition who are unable to cope with living independently.

Catherine Weir, Services Manager, SECE Mind, “These donations make a big difference to our tenants, especially in the current climate where people need to make choices between essentials. Special items such as toiletries can be seen as a luxury that people struggle to prioritise, so this is a little piece of luxury that can help to make people feel special.

Glyn Jones, CEO London Southend Airport, “London Southend Airport is committed to supporting those in need within our community. We are grateful for this opportunity to share these items with the residents and further support our charity partner SECE Mind, in making good use of unused essential items”.
