Five peak trains an hour to the heart of London

One of the quickest and smoothest ways to get to and from London is by train, from the modern, purpose-built station just 100 paces from the terminal. With up to five services an hour during peak times, and easy connections to the tube network, you’ll be whisked into the City in under an hour, and to Stratford in even less.

To/from London Liverpool Street Station: 53 minutes
To/from Stratford Station: 44 minutes

Tickets and timetables

Off-peak single fares start at £13.60 to Stratford and £16.70 to Liverpool Street, with discounts for railcards, travelcards and groups.

The ticket office is open every day from 06.00-23.00 including bank holidays.

It couldn’t be more convenient to take the train. The railway station is opposite the main terminal building, just a two minute walk through the covered walkway.

Is London Southend Airport in the oyster/contactless zone?

No the oyster/contactless zone ends at Shenfield, where a valid ticket will be required to continue your journey to the airport.

Can I use my freedom pass to and from the airport?

The freedom pass is only valid within the London zones; an extension ticket will be required from the boundary zone to the Airport.

Is special assistance available at Southend Airport Railway Station?
